July 30th – Missoula, MT

Our Friend Kat

Missoula, Montana

Throughout our month in Montana, we were able to run into/ stay with our friend, Kat, multiple times.  We first met up with her in Billings, which happened to be her last week living in that city, then in Butte for the Folk Festival, and then Missoula, her new home.  We are so glad and grateful to see her so many times, crash her house, and use her shower.  She is wonderful!  Much love 🙂

Missoula is one of our favorite cities in Montana.  It’s where the hippies, students, and outdoor enthusiasts live.  Its maybe growing too much as of lately, but it is still full of college town charm.  Plus, plenty of breweries to choose from.  We stopped by the city on our way to Paradise Gardens and then on the weekends. Missoula is known for its University, the “M” trail, and “Hip Street”

Here are some photos from our time in Missoula.

Kat showing us around town. The Clark Fork River flows through the city. Parks and walkways run along it.
Lots of street art.

Found Art!

This is a park along the river. It has a ropes course!
Milwaukee Road! One of the trail names in this park.
Cool old building.
The sunset over the city.
Another view
Walking back to Kat’s place we see this lovely home.  Missoula is full of these kinds of homes.
The next morning we do the “M Trail”
photo courtesy of “Montana Moods“. The M Trail is in the background.  That’s a lot of switch backs!
Going up the switchbacks.
Getting higher.  You can kind of see the other people hiking up.
We made it!
We’re pooped!
Brewery time!
Nice way to cool off from that Montana heat.
Montana has pretty strict liquor laws. A person can only have 4 beers at a brewery per day. Of course, there are several breweries in town. So, when you finish your three at one, there is another one done the street 😉  Although, we can barely handle three beers in a sitting.
Dinner Time at Tia’sBig Sky. Fancy Tamalies.
Wow!
Time for a bar crawl! This is the Rhino. Camrin wonders why?
Free Bluegrass music at the Tophat!
Late night Tacos from a street vendor.
An end to our night! A great time with great friends 🙂
