July 8th – 12th – A Few Days of Rest

July 8-12th
Racetrack Campground
Deerlodge, MT

Pretty much since we left home it has been go go go. Everyday packing up and moving on. Well, we needed a little break from that. We found a sweet campsite south of Deerlodge Montana. Big sites, picnic tables, water pump, pit toilets, and a creek to cool our bourbon in. It felt like luxury to us. We stayed for four nights. There was no cell reception. Laura loved it. Camrin hated it. It’s not that we had a horrible time, but sometimes when you’re alone in the woods, even with each other to talk to, it gets lonely.  We’ve become so addicted to being able to communicate with friends or get immediate answers to something we don’t know.  Even though we spend a lot of time in the woods, we have barely disconnected like this.  It’s easy to forget when we’re all go, there is exciting stuff going on and exploring, but when you’re standing still listening to the wind it’s easy to get bored and miss those comforts of home. Now that we spend so much time looking at screens and to all of a sudden not have that. It can be hard.

Something we hope we can work on more is putting our phones down. Sometimes we struggle to focus on things and spend way too much on facebook. Sometimes we think we are taking our time in nature for granted. We are missing all the cool creatures that wander through our sites.

Anyways, here are a few pics of the site we stayed at.  We didn’t take too many.  The sunsets were amazing… as usual for this state.

Tina!

Whats That?!!!!!

Another Moose Sighting!!

Heading back to the highway we see lots of signs like this. Montana loves their property rights.

Thanks for keeping up with our Blog!  Up Next… Helena, MT where we get some fly fishing lessons!
